AirMedic Pro Series Has More Carbon Depth and Makes For a Better Air Purifier
Activated Carbon is the most effective and most widely used filtration media for removing airborne chemicals, gases, fumes, VOCs, Volatile Organic Compounds, and odors.
AirMedic Pro Series' More Carbon Depth Makes for a Better Air Purifier
Activatedcarbon has been specially treated to open up millions of tiny pores and fissures. This creates a huge internal surface area. In fact, less than a handful of carbon has the surface area of an entire football field. When polluted air is drawn into the air purifier, chemicals, gases and odors are trapped in these openings. An air purifier made specifically for chemicals and odors will have a thick filter of granular activated carbon. Avoid any air purifier that uses only a thin carbon filter. This type of air purifier simply does not have enough carbon to be effective. It will quickly become saturated and may stop adsorbing within weeks or even days. A large carbon filter could last up to two years depending on the level of odors and chemicals in the dwelling.
More Carbon Depth for Consistently Clean Air
Activated Carbon is the most effective and most widely used filtration media for removing airborne chemicals, gases, fumes, VOCs, Volatile Organic Compounds, and odors.
To be used efficiently in air purification, an activated carbon filter must offer an adequate amount of depth to be able to significantly improve air quality.
Many air purifiers claiming to offer chemical and odor filtration only provide a mesh-like filter impregnated with carbon dust. This type of filter doesn't have enough carbon to effectively and consistently trap pollutants, as the pores would fill too quickly, often rendering the filter useless within days .
A deeper carbon filter also has a much longer filter life, lowering overall maintenance costs and providing on average, almost 9000 hours of clean air.
Used on the world’s most hazardous airborne pollutants, activated carbon is one of the safest and most effective filtration methods in use today.
Activated carbon actually attracts pollutants and traps them in millions of tiny pores and fissures. The surface area in activated carbon is so extensive, that if you could spread out all of the microscopic openings found in only one teaspoon of activated carbon, it would cover an entire football field. This unique quality allows carbon remove very large amounts of chemicals, gases and odors.
Filters with only a small amount of carbon or carbon dust sprayed onto mesh won't have as many openings for pollutants to be trapped and can quickly be saturated. This results in most frequent filter changes and ineffective filtration.
AirMedic Pro Series Air Purifiers' filter last on average 2 to 5 years, depending on the pollution level.
Carbon Blends For general filtration of chemicals gases and odors, select our standard EXEC carbon blend. For use in spaces where VOCs or other chemicals are the concern, consider the VOCARB carbon blend.
Designations Our units come standard with our Super HEPA particle filter. It has no glues or bonding agents and is more travel resistant that traditional HEPA (which is also available upon request).
